Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Detailed Design:
- Develop detailed mechanical and piping design documentation.
- Adhere to organizational quality systems for all design work.
- Understand project commercial aspects including timelines, costs, and warranties.
- Collaborate with multi-location engineering teams.
- Interpret piping specifications and customer requirements.
- Create:
- Plot plans
- Tank/vessel GA drawings
- Piping GA and isometric drawings
- 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings
- Skid and structural drawings
- Prepare accurate BOQs and general engineering documentation.
- Ensure fabrication-suitable isometrics and participate in as-built documentation, ISO audits, and design reviews.
Project Support:
- Attend internal and client meetings, including site visits if required.
- Support design reviews and implement review feedback within budget constraints.
- Communicate design changes and proactively identify potential delays.
- Evaluate and mitigate project risks.
- Investigate non-conformance reports (NCRs) and provide design corrections.
- Offer technical input and support to sales/proposal teams when requested.
Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to innovation by developing templates, guidelines, and standards.
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Engage in opportunities to improve designs, safety, and quality.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications (Essential):
- Certified Mechanical Drafting course
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in detailed mechanical and piping design, especially in water/wastewater industry
- Strong background in 3D plant design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, etc.)
- Familiarity with international standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, Australian Standards)
- Knowledge of materials and piping specifications
- Understanding of fabrication, machining, and casting processes
Desirable:
- International project experience
- Experience with PDMS or PDS software
- Understanding of water treatment process units
Skills & Attributes:

- Willingness to travel occasionally
